Unfortunately, quality soccer programs in the US are often reserved for those who are able to pay to play. It is our goal to break the mold and provide a high-quality, highly competitive, and more affordable soccer experience for the communities we serve.

Many of our Sparta teams play at the highest level in our state and have brought home several championship wins against well-known, established clubs. We're proving that players can develop and compete at a high level while still having a neighborhood club experience - playing alongside their friends, classmates and neighbors.

Coaching "the Sparta way" sets us apart from other clubs in the area. Our paid professional coaches are hired and evaluated on their ability to develop teams and players - to grow and improve each player's soccer skills - not just recruit and build teams around one or two strong players.

Sparta Tacoma tryouts for high school age groups are typically held in late winter. All other age group tryouts for Sparta Tacoma are typically held in May.  If you are new to our area or interested in joining mid-season, please contact our director of coaching.

Total costs (not including uniforms) for the 2024-2025 soccer year:

U9-U10: $1280
U11+: $1650

Pricing for other supplemental programs will vary.

Sparta Tacoma fees cover registration for US Club (player cards and secondary insurance), field rental for games and practice, ref fees, administrative costs, coach stipend, league & tournament entry fees for two summer tournaments and the Washington Cup Spring tournament.

Team practice is held 2 to 3 times a week. Each coach establishes their team's practice schedule and it is communicated to families through TeamSnap, a convenient app for team communication.

Practices are held at Metro Park Tacoma parks and Tacoma Public Schools. Common locations include Vassault Park, Peck Field, Wilson High School, Truman Middle School and Jason Lee Middle School.

The amount and location of games depend on your child's age group and division. Typically teams have one or two games each weekend during the fall and spring competitive season. During tournament play, teams may have four or more games in a single weekend.

Most games are held around the greater Puget Sound area. Teams playing in higher divisions may travel greater distances a few times a year.
