    Fall Recreational Soccer

    September 1, 2020

Due to COVID-19, Nortac Soccer Club made the logical yet difficult decision to cancel the fall recreational and academy soccer seasons.

This decision is based on three factors:

    1. No games or even scrimmages are allowed in youth soccer training until we reach phase three of reopening.
    2. While the current data is encouraging, it does not suggest that we will be able to reach phase three in September or early October.
    3. Pierce County Soccer, the league our recreational teams affiliate with, has already cancelled the fall season.

    Refunds:
If you had already registered for the fall season you should have automatically received a refund. If you have any questions regarding your refund please contact registrar@nortac.org.

    What's Next:
We are hopeful that we can eventually reach phase three by the end of autumn or sometime this winter, and if we do, then we plan to offer some kind of in-house programming for our younger kids aged 5-8 and our recreational players who are 9 and older.

This program may or may not look different from what you are used to as a member of Nortac, but at this point we hope you agree with us that being able to play any kind of soccer would be better than not playing. Check in with our website and social media for updates. We will try to post regular updates and share our plans as we get closer to reaching phase three.

    More Information

Overview - The NorTac Recreational ("Rec") program is designed for boys and girls born in 2008 and older. Recreation soccer is intended for players just entering soccer or those who simply enjoy the game and do not wish to participate in the more competitive programs. Please see THIS link if you are trying to decide between the Rec and Select Programs.

Age Requirements - Open to players born in 2011 or older.

    Registration & Fees

To be a player on a NorTac team, please use the following process:

    1. Register online - select the registration web page. Once a player is registered, they will be placed on a team and will be contacted by the coach. Players must register every year, even if they played on a Nortac team last year. If you have trouble with the on-line registration, please contact the club registrar.
    1. Parents must provide the coach with a copy of the player's legal birth certificate or current valid passport. Hospital complimentary birth certificates cannot be used. Coaches will turn in birth certificates for all players on their team. Certificates are not required for players who played on a Nortac team last year - we already have a copy on file. Parents must also provide the coach with a signed medical waiver.
    1. The cost to play on a NorTac team is the club registration fee plus any miscellaneous costs as determined by the team coach / manager. The club fee fee depends on the player's age and is listed below:

    Recreational Soccer U-9 and above - $125

*** new this year, jersey is included and provided by NorTac.

Registration deadline for players not currently playing with a team or assigned to a team (you know who your coach is) is June 30th. We make our best effort to place all players on teams and create new teams as needed. In order to do so, deadlines must be followed. If you have any questions, please contact the Registrar at registrar@nortac.org.

The club fee helps to cover a wide variety of costs such as field rental and maintenance, equipment (goals, nets, field marking paint, etc.), referees, and insurance. Scholarships are available. Please contact our vp of operations for more information.

Shin guards and cleats are mandatory and are provided by the player. NorTac provides a jersey or teams may decide to purchase their own uniforms. Please contact your team coach / manager for this information. Secondary Insurance (for player injuries) is provided by the Washington State Youth Soccer (WYS) and is included in the fees.

As noted above, players may have to pay addtional cost at the discretion of the team coach / manager. These costs cover items such as:

Fees for teams that play in State tournaments

    Summer tournaments

    End of season parties

    Spring 2018: (Registration Closed)
